The Social Hour
Description:
Across the river at the Lakeside Conservation Club the party is in full swing. Its members gather annualy to review past activities and plan coming events. Some drove to this idyllic setting, others arrived by boat after a little hunting and fishing along the way. Their dogs wait patiently by the water, as a flight of buffleheads swooop low in the setting sun's golden rays. All is serene in this romantic painting. But there is more than first meets the eye. 9500 s/n edition. Image size: 16 1/2" x 28".

All is serene in this romantic painting, but the aritst,Terry Redlin, asks us to consider the impressive rail fence in the foreground. Sturdy enough to hold cattle in the pasture, it is also carefully positioned on the river's bank, so that enough of the stream's flow creeps under the fence to offer the herd a good hearty drink. Careful observers will note that this cattle guard does its environmental duty by snagging debris that floats downstream. We can be certain that this treasure trove of lost lures, old decoys and assorted bottles will be happily collected by the next kid who chances by. 9500 s/n edition. Image size: 16 1/2" x 28".
