This rustic lakeside cabin is far enough from the city to create a sense that civilization has been left far behind. The weather will always be just right for either fishing or hunting. The boat is ready. The dog is waiting. And the sunsets, of course, will be outstanding.
“The boy, the girl & their dog have traveled a long distance in time & space to this beautiful place. For many people this scene must be close to the American dream. I know I’d like to be that Boy.” - Terry Redlin
An orphan dog has wandered onto the farm and lies nestled down, half hidden among the established pets. The pooch understands instinctively that his best chance for a comfortable new home is to be nearly invisible. The sign on the tree reads “Please Pet Our Friends.” On this farm there is space and time and love enough for all God’s creatures.
In this nostalgic image Terry Redlin revisits the sunny days of his youth. It was an innocent time when the most important thing in the world was to grab a pail & pole & hike out to the nearest fishing hole.
