Civil War Art & Gifts

Civil War Art is one of our passions at Picture Perfect gallery & framing. We enjoy a good Civil War history discussion and love explaining the beautifully interpreted pieces on our wall or in our print bins.

Civil War Art can take many different directions of focus - the battle scenes, the historic locations, or the human interest side of the four-year long struggle for the ideology between states’ rights and union. America's Civil War stretched from 1861 to 1865 and changed life in the United States. This war accounted for over 620,000 causalities during the bloody conflict which pitted brother against brother and father against son. 2011-2015 marked its 150th Anniversary.

At Picture Perfect, you will find art by the two premier historical interpretive artists of our day - Mort Kunstler & John Paul Strain. Each uses their very different art styles to tell the human side of the story of America's Civil War.

Artist Mort Kunstler retired from painting Civil War Art scenes in 2015 after beginning the emphasis in the late 80s. The final paintings in this series are sure to be collector's items. His artwork has been featured on television, books, stamps and movies.

Acclaimed artist John Paul Strain specializes in hyper-realistic paintings of Civil War Art while his other creations capture moments in time from the early days on the American Frontier. Strain began painting Civil War Art in 1991 and his artwork is featured in books, movies and film.
